You Mean The World To Me - Going Global Stamp Set

Well hello Friday! Today's card is one that follows the thankful theme. This time I am thanking my lucky stars for those who mean the world to me. I told my hubby this card was meant for him. He gave me that sweet smile and rolled his eyes, like I'm such a cheese ball! Anyhow, he knows he's got it good too (wink wink). Alright, enough of the cheese!

Today's card layout was pulled from the most recent sketch (#PPA296) over at the Pals Paper Arts blog. If you click on the picture below it will take you over to there so you can see more of the lovely cards that have been made following this design.

The colour combo used on this card was found over on the Just Add Ink blog. If you click on the pretty buttons below you can head on over there.

As for techniques I played with in the making of today's art, I did some embossing and washed over the images with my Aqua Painter using the inks that you see here in today's colour mix. I implemented some layering with different textures and kaboom! There you have it! I hope you liked today's card and thanks for stopping by!

If you are interested in checking out the products I used today you can click on the items in the list below. They'll take you to my Canadian online Stampin' Up shop. Let me know if you've any questions and remember to stamp your way to happiness!

Thank You Spring! Blended Bloom Card With Stampin' Up!

Well hello there! I've been thinking that as of late, I would like to gear my card making towards the "Thankful" direction of things. It's often easy to remember the larger, more monumental celebrations in life, and to forget the everyday simple moments and gestures, that make our world, our years, and our days most happy. So if you see a few more thank you card posts in the near future, this is why. I'm hoping to send a few in the mail ASAP. Saying thank you is great in and of itself, but a hand made snail mail thank you card shows that extra special thought and appreciation. So what do you say? Let's give more thanks this spring!

This wooden thanks sentiment makes it that much easier to whip together a quick thank you. It's beautiful all by itself really! As for the flower focal point on this card, I stamped the main image in Watermelon Wonder. To give it that nice soft blended look, I used a fine tip paintbrush with some rubbing alcohol and Watermelon Wonder Ink Refill to colour it in. The alcohol makes it blend super easy, just make sure you are in a well ventilated area. I'd like to call this technique "Drunk Ink Painting", but I'm not sure if that's politically correct! I did the same thing for the leaves but with Cucumber Crush. I didn't have any leaf stamps in my stash that were jumping at me, so  I took the flower from the "Butterfly Basics" stamp set and hacked off the blossoms (I think it worked great for leaves in a pinch).

As for the inspiration pieces, today's card layout came from the #TGIFC50 sketch. If you click on the sketch below it will take you to the TGIF challenge blog where you can see what it's all about!

I also decided to add a touch of nature with the flower and leaves. Nature is the theme this week over at the Global Design Project (#GDP031). The gadget below will take you on over there if you wish to venture.

Now if that wasn't enough, I came across this blog post, where the rest of the pizazz came from.

So there you have it! When you pull a few inspiring pieces together, you can truly come up with something wonderful. Thanks to all of the teams who shared their ideas and inspired me!

Now check out the Stampin' Up list below if you are interested in making your own card like the one I shared with you today!

Happy Stampin!

Rock Star Card - Be The Star Stamp Set By Stampin' Up!

Okay, I have been on a blogging streak and I told myself that before I did any more blog posts, I had to do something else. Over a year ago, I was really into running. But now that I've been more zoned into stamping, let's just say... my muscles are really relaxed! So today's challenge, well... was to go for a run before I posted on my blog. Fair enough deal right??? Said no one ever! Anyhow here I am ~5km later. Did you notice the approximate symbol (~)? It's my favourite one! Who has to be bang on when you can just approximate things, especially when it comes to things like running right? So now that I completed my task of running, I can share my rock star card. After all, I must be deserving of rock star status after the sweat I drenched myself in today... or not!

This sentiment could be used for many rock star moments in your loved one's lives. I really love the versatility of it! This rock star card uses a window sheet to hold those pretty stars afloat! Window sheets are an easy way to add that extra interest to your projects.

Well now for the next thing I have to do today, which is make supper (Chicken Divan)! I promised the hubby! Check out the Stampin' Up supply list below for all of your stamping needs & rock on!
