Fairy Celebration ~ #TGIFC101 March Madness

Happy Friday friends! Welcome to another fun Friday with the TGIF team! Today is the last day of  the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration special! I am a Canadian Stampin' Up! demonstrator located in Calgary, Alberta. If you are in Canada & you're looking to get in on a last minute Sale-A-Bration special, feel free to click on the shop button & visit my online Stampin' Up! shop today. It's your last chance! But no pressure! For this week's TGIF challenge, the theme is March Madness, which means anything goes! Check out all of the designer's cards over at the TGIF site, find some inspiration, create a card, & upload it to your blog or social media site to share with us! It's a tonne of fun! Who knows? You may just be chosen as a winner for this week! So what are you waiting for? Let's get your Stampin' game on & have some fun!

The card I created for today started with a simple layout, one similar to the sketch below...

I really wanted to share the layout with you 1st, as I know sometimes to look at a card and break it up into elements to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) can be a wee bit challenging in this wonderful, yet sometimes overwhelming world of crafts! So look at the layout 1st, then look at the colour combo, and then look at the card. Hopefully by breaking it up into a few elements, you can envision something that you can create with your stash at home! Remember ... it doesn't always have to be matchy matchy! As much as I love a good cup of matcha, that is not what we are getting at here! Seriously! Just find even ONE element you love from anywhere, and create a project that incorporates that element! When you are finished you will be amazed at the work of art that YOU created, with a little inspiration from somewhere or someone else!

Now let's not get side tracked with the matcha! Here is the "Anything Goes" card that I created for this week. Feel free to be inspired & copy and share away! I'd even like to see you create your own spin on it & change it up a bit! Remember to share it with us over at TGIF! We want to see your projects too! Send me a message if you have any questions on how to do so!

Are you curious as to how I created the sparkling doily and cardstock on my fairy card today? Well it was easy-oh-peasy with the Stampin' Up Heat & Stick Powder. All you need is this magical powder combined with some VersaMark Ink, the Stampin' Up! Heat Tool, and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (all of which you can purchase through Stampin' Up! via my online store). I even put together a video tutorial for you today that shows you step by step how to use this fun stuff! Check it out below if you are interested!

Thank you so much for visiting today! Leave a comment if you wish! & Please share your project with us over at TGIF this week! I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

Cheers!

Special Reason ~ #TGIFC100 Mercedes Inspired

Hi everyone! Here we are & it's Friday again! Yay!!! If you are new to my blog, my name is Carolynn and I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I am so super duper excited to be posting with the TGIF team today for their 100th design team challenge! It is an honour to be a part of this talented group of stampers. What better way to share that honour than with a Mercedes Weber inspired project?
http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/2017/03/tgifc100-designer-inspiration-mercedes.html

Mercedes has such a wonderful array of inspirational projects over on her blog. To choose just one is not an easy task. Saying that, I fell in love with this gorgeous card of hers...

I love the individually cut flowers on Mercedes' card, as well as the dry embossed background, and the nicely wrapped twine. If you were to ask me, all of these little intricate details are what make this card so fabulous! I'm not sure if my card will be much of a comparison. Saying that, I wanted to change it up a bit & make it my own. Here is what I came up with, I hope I can make Mercedes proud!

In hindsight, I think I could have added a bit of bling! I love that gold glimmer butterfly on Mercedes' card. Regardless, I am pleased with how today's project turned out. Happy 100th Birthday TGIF! Who would have ever thought I'd be celebrating with this team for their 100th post? I am forever grateful! Be sure to check out the TGIF challenge site this week! The team has so much inspiration to share! We would also love to have you join us for this week's celebration, so stamp and craft away!

Here are some quick links to the TGIF Design Team's personal blogs so that you can hop along and view each and every project up close! The team decided to celebrate #100 with a blog roll! Grab a coffee and check out all of the amazing posts!

Carolynn Sander You Are Here
