Gingerbread Loaf With Stampin' Up! Cookie Cutter Bundle

If gingerbread doesn't speak Christmas I don't know what does! This year I fell in love with the little stamped gingerbread man in the picture above. I have a ton of Christmas stamps from past years, so I told myself I really had to have a good use for this gaffer if I was going to purchase him. I hence decided to create homemade gifts for the teachers this year! Something I have done maybe once in my twelve years of motherhood. This is not a usual feat for me... AKA I am not Supermom! I simply had a spark of inspiration hit me and I was determined to try this out! Other than the fact I was set on making gingerbread loaves (something I have never baked before) to tie in with the theme, the rest was fairly straight forward! lol!

First off, if you are interested in making gingerbread loaf I found a great recipe on the Pillsbury website. Just click on the picture below and it will take you there. I did make a few adjustments, as I have a convection oven & I prefer to bake with a dark pan. If you have any questions feel free to email me as I did learn a few tricks along the way. I had 6 teachers to bake for altogether so I've now done this a few times!

After mastering the baking, cooling, & glazing part... the rest came together quickly. What is even more exciting, is that the stamp set, punch & bags I used on today's project are being carried over into the new year! This means you can purchase them any time in the near future! AKA we can start planning for next Christmas! Sadly the lovely washi tape & ribbon used on today's project are only available until January 3rd or while supplies last, so get them while you can!

For a list of all of the products used on today's gift please check out the pictures below this post. If you click on them they will take you to my Canadian online Stampin' Up shop where you can shop online 24/7!

Once again, thank you so much for stopping by & feel free to leave a comment! I love knowing when others have stopped by!

Happy Holidays!

Stampin' Up! Christmas Bookmark Card

Well happy December! That snuck up on me! I took a wee bit of a blogger holiday with all of the hustle and bustle of the season. Saying that I feel like I am far away from being ready for Christmas, which is just around the corner in 8 more days!!! I feel anxious just thinking about it actually. Anyhow, I'm taking a short moment to share a fun card that I created during some of my downtime last month. Yes card making is truly a calming break for me from the chaos of life.

When brainstorming crafty ideas one thought that has been brewing in the back of mind these days is how I could create a dual purposed card that incorporated a take away bookmark. One that was a part of the card but that could be used on it's own after the fact. This card here is what I came up with. I was pleasantly surprised with the final outcome. I especially love that when the bookmark is tucked into the cardfront the deer appears to be standing on the freshly fallen snow. I know of quite a few bookworms who would love to receive a card like this over the holidays and I'm sure you do too.

We made a few of these one afternoon when I had a couple of friends come over to stamp. If you are in the Calgary area and are interested in arranging your own stamping, crafting, card making, or scrapping get together feel free to send me an email. I'd love to help you with all of your paper crafting needs. As for the supplies used on today's card just click on the links below. They will take you to my online Stampin' Up shop where there are many great year end specials on right now! Get them before they sell out! You're welcome!

& Happy Holidays!
