Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop - Be Inspired By Fashion

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander in Calgary, Alberta, Canada! If you have been hopping along, you most likely arrived here via my wonderfully talented friend Cathy Caines! She is always creating amazing works of art, and is full of wit! I love her for everything Cathy is. Make sure to check out her blog (like you haven't already), and click on the next button at the end of this post so that you catch all of the fabulous projects our team has to share with you! It's an incredible line up!

The theme for today is to be inspired by fashion! This leaves the doors open to endless ideas and crafty opportunities. As a mom of three, and working as a Registered Nurse, I am far from fashionable on a good day. But... I can always learn (aka google) the current trends right? Funny thing is Stampin' Up! has already done some of that research for us! Did you know that the array of products in the Stampin' Up! Catalogue are actually based on current trends? My google search reiterated just that.

One of the fashion trends I found interesting in my search is that bright colours (like those you would find in your favourite box of crayons) are hot this year! So I decided to pick some of my fave bright classic hues for today's set of cards. Monochrome is also in fashion this year, hence the individual monochrome cards. I then decided to go with some classic polka dots (which in my mind never really go out of fashion), and some ruffles to finish off these cards.

The gold touches also added that little bit of bling which makes these cards shine together. With the recent passing of Kate Spade (a fashion legend), I thought it be important to also highlight mental health. The sentiment on today's card is fitting with that. We all need to be a little more gentle with ourselves. In this crazy hectic world, it is so important to take time for you, and be forgiving of yourself. We are all human. Remember on those tough days to "Love You" for everything that YOU are. Honour yourself. ❤️

On that note, I hope that you enjoyed today's projects. Up next is the amazingly talented iconic Brian King!  I can't wait to see what he has to share with us today!

Thank you so much for visiting today! If you have any questions in regards to today's project feel free to contact me! As well, if you are in Canada and you are interested in purchasing Stampin' Up! products, I would love to have you visit my Stampin' Up! online shop! Just click on the shop button below if you wish!

What do you think of this week's inspiration photo? Is it not the cutest? I adore it! So much that I had to pull as many details as I could from it, and infuse my project with them!

How do you think I did? Leave a comment below if you wish. Not gonna lie, this week's challenge inspired me to purchase yet another stamp set from Stampin' Up! The Sunny Days Stamp Set is super cute for summer. I can't wait to create some more with it. Have a look at all of the images included in this set below. You will see why I am so in love...

So adorable hey? And so so perfect for the theme this week!

Have you heard of the chalkboard technique? Well that is how I created the chalkboard backdrop on today's project. Simply take some Basic Black cardstock and sponge it with your Stampin' Up! Whisper White Craft Ink. Then stamp the sentiment in Whisper White Craft Ink. This technique gives you that old traditional chalk board look, and is super easy to do!

Well I hope that you enjoyed today's project! Thank you so much for visiting today! It's time to go outside and catch some of those summer rays! Before you do that though, remember to stop by the TGIF Challenges site and join in the fun this week! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. As well, if you are from Canada check out my online 24/7 Stampin' Up! supply shop below!

Cheers & Happy Stamping!

Hi everyone! Welcome to another fun Friday with the TGIF Challenges team! My name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Today the TGIF Challenges Team has a wonderful sketch to share with you! We hope it inspires you to create something beautiful! If you feel inclined, we would love to have you share your creation with us this week! Upload your project to your blog or favourite social media site. Then share it to our page! It's a ton of fun! Now for this week's sketch... check it out!

https://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/2018/06/tgifc163-sketch-time.html

Isn't it fabulous? So many ideas can flow from this one layout! Here was my first take on it!

Okay... I will admit it. I always have to change a sketch up a little bit. Make it my own so to speak. I like to flip it, resize it, change up the elements. When you let your mind wander with a sketch in this manner, the possibilities are endless! Try it out! Make a card (or any project) with this sketch (or another) and change it a wee bit. You just might surprise yourself! Plus it's so much fun!

I am in love with this sweet little fairy stamp that you see showcased here today. Isn't she the cutest? The Stampin' Up! Fairy Celebration Stamp Set is an oldie but a goodie. As "fairy" as I am concerned, stamps are like friendships. You can adore the new ones, but remember to cherish the old. Saying that, remember to check out the new Stampin' Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue! Click HERE if you have yet to flip through it! Grab a cuppa java or tea and enjoy ogling at all of the fun new products!πŸ’–
