Stampin' Up! Stampin' Up! Floral Essence Stamp Set - #TGIFC112

Hi everyone! My name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The TGIF Team is at it again with some amazing inspiration this week! Come on over to TGIF Challenges site and have fun creating with us! We would love to see what you can come up with!

The theme for this week is paper flowers! What a great diverse theme! It's been a while since I created some paper flowers. If you want to check out a very original 3-D project I created with paper flowers a while back you can check it out by clicking HERE! For today's project I went with simple. I just received the Stampin' Up! Floral Essence Stamp Set and coordinating punch with my Stampin' Up! preorder this past week. Today's theme was a great excuse to pull it out and play.

What do you think? It's been a while since I have gotten inky. I am feeling a bit rusty these days. But it felt good to sit down and create again! One thing I did do a little bit different here was I covered the Stampin' Up! Perennial Essence Floral Center with Whisper White Craft Ink, and then White Stampin' Emboss Powder. I then heat set it with my Stampin' Up! Heat Tool and voila! I had created a white floral center that coordinated with my card. FYI I tried bleaching the floral center 1st and these are unbleachable. It was worth a shot though. I would love if these came in more colors, but in the meantime I can always work with what I've got! Check out the floral centers in the picture below! They will be available to purchase on June 1st with the release of the new annual 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalogue!

If you want to purchase some before then it's easy! You just sign up as a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator and you can preorder some anytime! If you are in Canada and you want to join my team you can learn more by clicking HERE! If you are okay with waiting you can purchase other papercraft supplies by visiting my online Stampin' Up! shop! Lastly, remember to check out the TGIF Challenges site this week to join in the fun with us!

Cheers & Happy Stamping!

Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop - Watercolour

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander in Calgary, Alberta, Canada! If you have been hopping along, you most likely arrived here via the wonderfully talented Cathy CainesI have a feeling that she left you feeling pretty inspired today!

The theme for today is watercolour! Watercolouring is one of my favourite stamping techniques!💖 I especially love all of the different hues you can get when watercolouring. The colours I chose today were all muted down after I finished the watercolouring process! It gives that soft, subtle look that I adore! Make sure that you have a look my Stampin' Up! supply list at the end of this post to check out all of the products & colours that I used to create my project!

Did you notice that I watercoloured not just a backdrop for my cupcakes on today's card, but also parts of the cupcakes themselves? I did some paper piecing on the cupcakes to get this look! I think it makes the entire project more cohesive. What do you think? If you have never paper pieced before, you can check out a tutorial that I created a while back by clicking HERE. It's pretty straight forward, and so fun! Okay... it might also be a wee bit tedious! 😂 But it's worth it in the end!

As far as the watercoloured background you see here, I created that by doing some watercolour smooshing. I am always thrilled with how the smooshing turns out every time! When I smoosh I like to lay some ink down on my Stampin' Up! Silicone Craft Sheet, I then spritz the ink with water, next step is to press a piece of watercolour paper into the pools of ink. It turns out different every time! But yet beautiful every time! For today's watercolour smooshed background I went with my Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, and So Saffron Inks! I love the dreamy look I achieved with this mix of hues!

Well I won't keep you too long today, I hope you enjoyed today's project! If you have questions or comments I love to hear them! Feel free to leave a comment below!  Up next in today's blog hop is the fabulous Emma Goddard! I can't wait to see what she has to share with us today! She is oh so talented!
