Let's Get Hopping Round 7 - Handmade Easter

Well hello everyone! I hope that you had a fabulous February! If you are new here my name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Canadian Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta. I am so happy to have you here with me today! If you have been hopping along, you most likely arrived here via the lovely Jennifer Frost ! Wasn't her project today fabulous? If you want to capture all of the fabulous projects today make sure to click on the next button below so that you don't miss out!

The theme for today's blog hop is "Handmade Easter, ANYTHING BUT A CARD". I have a non-chocolate themed project to share with you today. Shame on me (I know). The Easter Bunny would be disappointed, I fully realize that. I am sure we will have enough chocolate hanging around here in another month or so though. As well, I am still trying to burn through that extra winter weight. lol So yes, today's project features one of my most favourite Stampin' Up! sets from the annual catalogue called "Tranquil Tulips". Tulips are my favourite flower, and there is an abundance of them around here come spring. To change it up, I decided to stamp my tulips here today on an LED wax candle. It turned out even better than I had imagined.

If you are unsure how to stamp on candles, well it is quite simple. You actually stamp your image on a piece of white tissue paper first. You then cut the stamped image out with your paper snips. Next step is you position it where you would like it on your candle (ink side down with the ink facing the candle). You then wrap a sheet of wax paper over the image, and heat it with your heat tool. The heat tool will melt the image into your candle so that the two become one (be careful not to overheat it). Lastly, you pull away the wax paper and voila! You will have yourself a beautiful stamped candle like the one that you see here today.

I have always loved the idea of stamping on candles this way, but I truly didn't like the idea of lighting a candle that had tissue paper embedded in it. I was therefore so excited when I saw these candles at my local Shopper's Drug Mart! They are LED (Flameless), but they still have a wax finish. They worked perfectly with this technique here today. Now I have a beautifully stamped spring time candle that I can bring out every Easter. As a side note, to be safe I took the batteries out when I heat set my LED candle. You might want to do the same if you try this at home.

Well I hope that you enjoyed today's project! Hopefully you leave here excited to create your own spring project! Now to check out the rest of today's blog hop! Up next is Eimear Carvill! Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop ~ Stampin' Up! Cool Treats Stamp Set

Hi everyone! Welcome to today's Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop! If you are new here, my name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Canadian Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta. The hop today is all about food! How awesome is that? I am sure that we will all be drooling by the end of the today's line up of inspiring creations! So what are you waiting for? Go and grab your fave snack to much on, & enjoy all of the foodie projects to be shared!

What do you think? Are you drooling yet? I know we are heading into the fall season, but it was scorching hot here yesterday! Who doesn't love an ice cold popsicle on a hot day?

When creating this cool card, I decided to make these popsicles a wee bit more authentic by using one of the lighter pieces of DSP (from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack) to create the popsicle sticks. I then used the same piece of DSP to create the coordinating mat in the background. I think in the end it gave a really finished look. This DSP is seriously amazing! It can be used for a variety of purposes. Check out the entire assortment in the picture below!

Isn't this pack of paper gorgeous? As well it is so on trend! Check out my Canadian Stampin' Up! Online store if you are interested in purchasing your own! But before you do that, make sure you click on the next button below. It will take you to Sarah Berry from the UK! She has a berry wonderful project to share with you today!
