Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop - Watercolour

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Be Inspired Design Team Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander in Calgary, Alberta, Canada! If you have been hopping along, you most likely arrived here via the wonderfully talented Cathy CainesI have a feeling that she left you feeling pretty inspired today!

The theme for today is watercolour! Watercolouring is one of my favourite stamping techniques!๐Ÿ’– I especially love all of the different hues you can get when watercolouring. The colours I chose today were all muted down after I finished the watercolouring process! It gives that soft, subtle look that I adore! Make sure that you have a look my Stampin' Up! supply list at the end of this post to check out all of the products & colours that I used to create my project!

Did you notice that I watercoloured not just a backdrop for my cupcakes on today's card, but also parts of the cupcakes themselves? I did some paper piecing on the cupcakes to get this look! I think it makes the entire project more cohesive. What do you think? If you have never paper pieced before, you can check out a tutorial that I created a while back by clicking HERE. It's pretty straight forward, and so fun! Okay... it might also be a wee bit tedious! ๐Ÿ˜‚ But it's worth it in the end!

As far as the watercoloured background you see here, I created that by doing some watercolour smooshing. I am always thrilled with how the smooshing turns out every time! When I smoosh I like to lay some ink down on my Stampin' Up! Silicone Craft Sheet, I then spritz the ink with water, next step is to press a piece of watercolour paper into the pools of ink. It turns out different every time! But yet beautiful every time! For today's watercolour smooshed background I went with my Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, and So Saffron Inks! I love the dreamy look I achieved with this mix of hues!

Well I won't keep you too long today, I hope you enjoyed today's project! If you have questions or comments I love to hear them! Feel free to leave a comment below!  Up next in today's blog hop is the fabulous Emma Goddard! I can't wait to see what she has to share with us today! She is oh so talented!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit today! If you are in Canada and you are interested in purchasing Stampin' Up! products, I would love to have you visit my Stampin' Up! online shop! Just click on the shop button below if you wish!

Cheers & Happy Stamping!
