The August 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit is full of florals and beautifully versatile sentiments! I followed my heart when it came to today's alternative project. Saying that, it wasn't difficult to do so. I truly feel like this months kit was made for me.

Our first born doggie passed away last month. Rosie truly is and always will be a part of our family. She brought so so much to our lives. When the August Paper Pumpkin Kit came to my mailbox, I opened it up, and right away I knew what I was going to create with it. I wanted to create a layout that represented her and everything she has given us.

When we said good-bye to our girl it was one of the hardest times I have ever had to face in life. It is hard enough to face death and loss as an adult. But to have to support and guide your children through that loss is even more challenging. Our kids are at ages where they understand the permanence of death. I believe in the life thereafter, but that doesn't take away from the permanent loss one experiences in this life as we say our farewells. One thing I learned through this experience is that our children are much braver than I had ever realized. That they grieve with us. That these surreal moments of loss connect us in the most palpable way. & That our family ties and this insurmountable love we hold in our hearts will last forever. That is how we will get through this life. To me life is love, & love is life. I recall looking over at my husband with my blubbery eyes when we had our last moments with Rosie. Our kids were by our side. I remember saying, "When I married you... I didn't know that I was going to get all of this too." I married the love of my life, and together with that love more love has bloomed. We are forever blessed. The sentiment on today's layout fits perfectly. What more can one say?
