Autism Awareness Blog Hop

Happy Wednesday everyone! Welcome to today's Autism Awareness blog hop! You are currently visiting Carolynn Sander, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. If you have been following the hop you most likely arrived here via the talented Amy Koenders. Wasn't her project today inspiring? I would have to say so! I hope that you enjoy all of the projects that are part of today's wonderful line up! Remember to click on the next button at the end of this post so that you don't miss out on all of the amazing creativity, & touching messages to be shared today!

Although I haven't been impacted by Autism directly, I do know close friends who have dealt with the struggles of this disorder. This hop has already increased my own awareness in some sense, as I didn't truly realize that there was a recognized Autism Awareness Day (or Month for that matter). Hopefully bringing more attention to this issue, will result in a deeper understanding on behalf of others. As per the Autism Canada Website, "This year we want to go beyond simply promoting autism awareness to encouraging friends and collaborators to become partners in movement toward acceptance and appreciation".

I was originally very unsure of what to create for today's hop. I of course googled Autism Symbols and came across the Autism Ribbon. The ribbon was covered in puzzle pieces with colours similar to the colours I have showcased on today's card. My understanding is that the bright colours are meant to represent hope. I hoped that by displaying these bright hues in big blocks of colour this happy message of hope would be portrayed. Without hope the future can look very bleak. We all need to have hope in our lives, no matter what difficulties we may be facing. I then decided to stamp some of my favourite positive sentiments in these bright hopeful colours. Positive affirmations are good for anyone to repeat, or say aloud to themselves on a down day. I could have stamped a few more even, but I loved how these sentiments fit so nicely within this die cut heart.

I hope that you enjoyed my project, and that it has inspired you in some way today. For a complete list of Stampin' Up! supplies used to create this card simply scroll down to the end of this post.
