Stampin' Up! Lemon Zest Bundle - #TGIFC149

Hi everyone! Welcome to another fun Friday with the TGIF Challenges team! My name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Today I have a ZESTY card to share with you! I hope you enjoy it! As well, remember to check out the TGIF Challenges site today! There are lots of inspiring ideas! If you feel inclined, we would love to have you join in with us this week! Have fun creating your masterpiece and upload it to your blog or favourite social media site. Then share it to our page! It's a ton of fun!

Today's card features a very vibrant colour combo. To be honest, I initially struggled with these colours. I thought, "What can I create that is entirely green?" I pictured the Incredible Hulk, or some slimy monster. I checked out my stash of stamps... and frankly, there were no such monsters jumping out at me. But... I then came across the Stampin' Up! Lemon Zest Stamp Set. At the same time I was sipping on my lime water (which had half of a sliced lime simmering in it). Voila! The ideas started to flow, and today's card was created.

One thing I love about solid stamp images (such as the ones in this set) is that they are perfect for the "Rock'n Roll" technique. Check out all of the images from the Lemon Zest Stamp Set in the photo below.

In order to get the two toned limes that you see here today, I first inked up my stamp in Lemon Lime Twist. I then took the stamp to my Emerald Envy Ink Pad and rolled just the edges of the stamp in the darker ink. I then applied some clear embossing powder to my stamped image and heat set it. The embossing step just adds that extra texture. It takes the card from fab to fabulous! That's it! There you have it... a zesty card for your main squeeze! Here is a quick video tutorial from Stampin' Up! that showcases the "Rock' n Roll" technique! If you decide to try out this technique, just make sure that you ink with a lighter colour of ink first, and then rock/roll in the darker hue so that you don't mess your pads up.

I hope that you enjoyed today's zesty card! Thank you so much for visiting today! Remember to stop by the TGIF Challenges site and join in the fun this week! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. As well, if you are from Canada check out my online 24/7 Stampin' Up! supply shop below!

Cheers & Happy Stamping!
