Creating Kindness Blog Hop - Texture

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog! If you are new here, my name is Carolynn Sander. I am a Canadian Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator from Calgary, Alberta. Today the Creating Kindness Design Team is hosting another around the world blog hop!  If you have been following the hop you would have just arrived here via Jay Soriano's blog. Wasn't Jay's card beautiful? I am going to have to try that technique! The theme for today's hop is texture! Thanks to the wonderful array of Stampin' Up! products, there are lots of fun ways to add texture to your papercrafting projects! I can't wait to see what textures the rest of the team has schemed up! I am sure we will all be impressed! In addition to the blog hop today, there is also a video hop component. Make sure that you visit my YouTube channel by clicking on the YouTube icon in today's post . Within the YouTube video description there will be a list of video links that one can click through in order to see all of the videos that are part of today's share! Pretty cool huh?

When I heard the theme this month was texture I knew right away that I wanted to play around with the new Embossing Paste from Stampin' Up! I had already used it a couple of times. But seriously, this stuff is so fun to mess around with that I just can't get enough! I decided that I wanted to pull out the brick patterned decorative mask that comes with the Stampin' Up! Pattern Party Decorative Masks assortment. It was one of the masks that I had yet to utilize. Check out the Pattern Party Decorative Masks pack in the picture below...

Isn't this assortment of masks amazing? They are also super versatile! So yes, I had yet use the brick patterned one. I pulled it out and analyzed it. I really wanted to use it... but I also wanted to create a fun and bright set of cards. Why? Well these cards were going to be for our Stampin' Up! team card swap! There were seven of us that decided we wanted to create and share cards. These Stampin' gals are my Stampin' family. They are bright and cheery peeps, so I needed bright and cheery cards! How do you make a brick wall bright and cheery? You cover it with graffiti art! Hence where my idea of a watercoloured, embossing paste, graffiti wall inspired, card came from! Wow! That was a mouthful!

You can get an idea as to how I created today's project by checking out the supply list at the end of this post. Saying that, you must watch the video tutorial that I created below!

What do you think? Are you not excited to break out your supplies and create a few paper crafted grafffiti walls? I know I will be making a few more in the future! These make great cards for all ages! What I found fascinating is that every card turned out equally stunning, yet they were all very different! Below are a couple of close ups so that you catch my drift!

What do you say? Are they not equally gorgeous, yet very different? I almost wish I could have kept them all for me! Lol! But that wouldn't be very kind hey? I am honestly super pumped to receive six cards from my stamping friends! I always love being inspired by others creations! Card swaps a great way to share ideas! Another awesome way to get ideas is to keep hopping through today's blog roll! Next up is Maria Willis! She is one of my best stampin' pals! You will love what she has in store today! Simply click on the next button below and you will be taken to her blog!
