Happy Friday to all! For those who might be new here, I am a Canadian Stampin' Up! There is a great variety of Polka Dot themed projects to check out over at the TGIF site today. If you haven't scoped out the TGIF challenge site yet make sure you do! Since my stash of current Stampin' Up! polka dotted items is few and far between, I decided to get a little more creative today. I made my own polka dot stencil using my Stampin' Up! Layering Circle Framelits Dies & a few of my Stampin' Up! Circle Punches. With this stencil I then sponged Whisper White Craft Ink over my Crumb Cake Cardstock base to create a polka dot pattern! That wasn't quite enough, so after letting the White ink dry, I moved my homemade stencil up and over slightly. I then sponged a second time with some of my favourite Stampin' Up! inks to create the colourful dots you see here! The colours I used were Pool Party, Perfect Plum, & Sweet Sugarplum. By offsetting the stencil and going over it a second time with the coloured inks, I was able to create the shadowed look you see on today's card. This is known as the Ghost Technique! You can recreate this technique using stamps or stencils! It truly makes for a stunning effect!

As I mentioned above I created my own stencil using the Stampin' Up! Layering Circle Framelits Dies. Check out all of the circle dies that are included in this set below...

These are truly one of my go to Stampin' Up! products! When making my own stencil I used these as well as a few of my Stampin' Up! Circle Punches to cut random circles throughout a piece of cardstock. The cardstock piece I used was sized the same as your standard cardfront (4&1/4 inches by 5&1/2 inches). After that, I was able to sponge away & create the look that you see on today's card!

I hope I have inspired you to go out & make your own polka dotted project! Or better yet, to go and make yourself a stencil and try out this amazing Ghost Technique! If you have a polka dotted themed project we would love to have you upload it to your blog or favourite social media site so that you can share it with us over at TGIF challenges! Every week a favourite is chosen by our design team! Try it out, we'd love to have you join us! The more the merrier!

Oh!!! & Did you see that Happy Birthday die? That's a sneak peek of what's to come in the new Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. It will be available to view & be loved by all on June 1st. Isn't it to die for? I love the scrolled font! Sorry for the tease!
