Stampin' Up! Any Occasion Hello Card

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a nice week. Today I am going to share a quick card with you. This was yet another card that I created for the Stampin' Up Canadian Business Conference display. This card and all of the other display samples I created used the Stampin' Up Any Occasion stamp set. You can earn this set for free during Sale-A-Bration (SAB) just by placing a qualifying order. Sale-A-Bration runs until March 31st. This promotion truly is a great way to build on your stamping collection!  So what are you waiting for? You can place an order anytime through my Canadian Stampin' Up online shop! Or if you are in the Calgary area and you wish to host a catalogue, online, or in home workshop just let me know! There are so many options!

It always amazes me that after years and years of papercrafting there are still new techniques to be discovered. For example, the soft colourful background shown on the forefront of this happy hello is one my newer-ish favourites! I am in love, as it has that soft watermarked look to it, and it's also super easy to replicate. If I haven't convinced you to try this out well let me just say that you should! All you have to do is take a piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock and sponge it in a circular motion with whichever inks you choose. Today I am using Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, & Sweet Sugarplum Ink. They are so pretty together! Then when you are done just take your water spritzer or an aqua painter, and splatter a bit of water on there. Let the tiny drops settle for a few moments, and then lastly sop them up with a dry paper towel. You will be left with a piece of art made by YOU every time!

If you haven't already seen the other images included in the stamp set featured today you can check them out below.

This truly is a versatile set! I still have a few more of my display projects to share with you, so keep checking in with my blog for future inspiration. FYI  the Be Inspired Design Team will be running another blog hop on February 9th so mark it on your calendar! You won't want to miss it! I can't wait for all of the sharing, inspiration, & fun! I hope you will join us!

Thank you again so much for stopping by! I will have a supply list at the end of this post that showcases everything required to make your own happy hello card if you choose. Feel free to contact me with any questions, & happy stamping!

Cheers!

#TGIFC93 It's A Colour Challenge

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.ca/

Hi everyone! I am so excited to announce that I have joined up with the TGIF Challenge group as one of their design team members! I cannot explain how thrilled I was when Jeanna Bohanon asked if I'd be interested in being on their team which is full of papercrafting marvels! I have been inspired many times over by the beautiful projects and themes that are part of the weekly challenges over at TGIFC. Be sure to pop on over to be inspired, or better yet, participate in one of the weekly challenges! They are always a good way to help get your creative juices flowing!

http://tgifchallenges.blogspot.com/2017/02/tgifc93-color-challenge.html

This week the theme over at TGIFC is a colour challenge! The colours for this week are great given that Valentine's day is just around the corner. Without further ado, here is the card I created...

I have been wanting to make one of these shirt & tie cards for quite a while now. There are many shirt & tie card variations floating around the internet. I had pictured Ryan Gosling wearing this handsome outfit, yet whenever I'd search for inspiration this guy kept popping up!

This was not who I was envisioning! But hey! Inspiration is all around us right!

To be honest, I really did like the pattern on Pee-wee's jacket and I wanted to replicate it. After analyzing my stash of stamps, I eventually decided to use the striped stamp from the hostess set "Basket for You". You can earn this set for free by hosting an online, in home, or catalogue workshop. If you are interested, just contact me for more details. Check out all of the images in the stamp set below.
I decided to ink up the striped stamp in the Smokey Slate Ink and stamped it in both directions on the Smokey Slate cardstock to achieve the look shown on my card. As far as creating the vest itself, I used a few of my Stampin' Up framelit dies. By die cutting with my stars and ovals, I was able to create the vest. I even have a template to share with you today so that you can visualize how easy this is! You're welcome!

Simple hey? I also have a template for you explaining how to create the dress shirt.

As for the bow tie, well I used the Stampin' Up Bow Builder Punch of course! Check out the video tutorial below if you haven't tried using this baby before!

After all of these steps, I just added a few of the Urban Underground Embellishments to make the vest buttons, and applied some Wink of Stella to finish off my project. These items make this project go from simple to wow!

Have a look at the supply list below if you are interested in checking out all of the Stampin' Up supplies used for today's project. If you are in Canada you can click on the supplies in the list to purchase them from my online Stampin' Up supply shop. Once again, thanks for stopping by, thanks for commenting, & feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the making of today's card.

Cheers!
